Depending on your total income, up to 85% of your social security income can be taxable.

Use this Interactive Tax Assistant to figure out if your Social Security income is taxable.

IRS publication 915 also provides some worksheets to figure the amount. But TurboTax does the calculation after you enter all your income information.
