I have seen many inquiries about this topic in this community. Most of them left frustratingly because there is no real solution provided. So, let me provide a solution that works (yes - on a mac).
1. First: What everyone says about using your typical [cmd +] does NOT work.
2. I have gone through a lot of trouble so you can save your time. (1) Search the community - no help, (2) Search software help - no help, (3) Ask the digital chat agent - no help, (4) Ask live agent - no help and complete waste of my 32 minutes talk time. In fact, the live agent asked me to search on Youtube for a solution because she cannot figure this out herself as well. She claimed that this is not an issue with TurboTax, it's a problem with Mac.
3. This is when my frustration is sky high - why would anyone design a software with the default font size as 8-point font? I am deeply disappointed at Turbo Tax's software development team and their management because I knew they were better 20 years ago. How things have gone by the way sides.
4. OK, now, unfortunately because of poor design of TurboTax, the solve is to go to Mac's Accessibility settings, go to Zoom, then: (1) enable keyboard shortcuts and/trackpad gesture to control zoom, (2) go to advance - and increase your maximum zoom from 1 to 1.6x, 2x or larger depending on your actual needs. You will need to try it out a few times. That's the only way to compensate for the poorly designed software. Otherwise, I will need a refund because its font size is simply non-usable.
This is such a fundamental usability issue, and the product team not prioritizing this or not even realizing this is a key issue is an epic failure for a company that used to pride itself in usability. Shame!
