How do you calculate taxable portion of disability income when premiums are split between insured and employer?

If employer paid $1 per month and employee paid $9 per month (after tax dollars),  would the taxable portion be 10% of the benefit paid?

Yes, exactly.  You simply do this same calculation to determine the taxable vs,  nontaxable portion of the benefits you receive.
