How do we report a glitch? Schedule D Form 1041 gives an error for the stock sold date. Despite being 12/5/2025, I get an error that the date is not in the current yr.

Please try

12/05/2025

The program may be looking for eight digits.

I had 8 digits on the form, but it still gave me an error message stating it wasn't in the current tax year.  I think it is a glitch that needs to be reported/fixed.

Are you reporting for a Trust or Estate with a fiscal year rather than calendar year? Look at the top of Form 1041. All transactions must fall within the dates given for a fiscal year. If the sale occurred outside these dates, you either need to file an amended return for last year or wait to report it next year.
