How do I take the plus or deluxe off my filling?

Our add-ons may increase your TurboTax Online fees but can help save you time and provide additional assistance and guidance.

However, if your TurboTax Online fees are higher than expected you can reduce them by removing add-ons:

·         Remove PLUS More Help & Tools

·         Remove pay-with-your-refund (Refund Processing)

·         Remove Premium Service

First, make sure you don't need them.

PLUS is to allow you access to last year's return to retrieve the AGI, which you need in order to Efile.

If you have last year's return printed out, you can find your AGI:

Form 1040 – Line 37

Form 1040EZ – Line 4

Form 1040A – Line 21

Form 1040NR – Line 36

Form 1040X – Line 1, Column A

Deluxe has forms the Free Edition does not, like 1099 income.

You can file your federal (1040EZ/1040A) and state taxes for free if you:

• Made less than $100,000
• Don't own a home or rental property
• Didn't sell investments
• Don't own a business or have 1099-MISC income
• Don't have any major medical expenses

To remove Fees:

When you're in your return (past the Take me to my return button):

1. Select File in the left-hand menu.
2. Continue until you get to Step 1, Review your order, then select Start.
3. When you get to your order summary, select Remove on the items you do not need.
