How do I speak with a live person

How do I check my bank information on my federal return?  My state just sent me a letter stating our draft payment did not go through due to a wrong bank routing number.

If you successfully filed your federal tax return through TurboTax this year, were expecting a refund and you also selected to have your refund via direct deposit you can view that information by following these steps:

  1. Sign into TurboTax if you haven't already.
  2. On the Tax Home screen, scroll down and select Add a State (don't worry, we're not adding a state) to access your tax forms and worksheets.
  3. In the left menu, select Tax Tools then Print Center.
  4. On the TurboTax Print Center screen, select Print, save or preview this year's return.
  5. On the next TurboTax Print Center screen, select 2019 federal returns and Include Government and TurboTax Worksheets (optional), then select View or Print Forms.
  6. The information will be on the first page, Electronic Filing Instructions for your 2019 Federal Tax Return next to Balance Due/Refund.
  7. You can view the state refund information on the State Electronic Filing instructions.

You can ask your question here or start a new thread or call in.  But be prepared, the wait times are long today (and tomorrow).   @Lianpi007

Phone support is not provided with the Free Edition.  If you are using a paid version of the software or if you purchased PLUS you can get phone support when customer support is there.  Otherwise, post your question here and someone will try to help.

Customer support is available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday-Friday.

However---you say you want to talk about banking information.    You cannot change your banking information with TurboTax after you e-filed your return.    If this is about the monthly child tax credit payments that begin in July, the IRS will be providing a portal where you can enter updated banking information---but it is not ready yet.

Did you already e-file?  If you did NOT e-file you can go to the FILE section and change how you want to receive your refund.  If you want direct deposit you need the routing number and your own account number.

You cannot  change banking information while your return is in pending, nor can you change it after the return is accepted.

If you e-filed:

Banking information for direct deposit is wrong

If you entered incorrect banking information for your refund, you can change it if your return is rejected.  If it is accepted, however, it is too late to change it.  The bank will reject the refund and send it back to the IRS.  Then the IRS will issue a paper check and mail it to the address you put on your tax return.  Expect a delay of at least a couple of weeks to receive your refund.

Here is what the IRS says about entering incorrect banking information
