Using the TurboTax online editions your information is saved as it is entered.

Click on Sign off at the bottom left of the online program screen.

If you are using TurboTax Online it automatically saves your work as you go along. You can sign out and return to the same place later.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can click on File at the top left of your TurboTax screen (in the black bar that goes across the top of your screen) and then click on Save in the dropdown menu. When you come back, you can click File in the top left corner, and choose Open Tax Return to pick up where you left off.  It is highly recommended to use File and then Save As to create a backup file.
