It makes sense that you did not receive a 1099-K, because the federal threshold for a 1099-K is $20,000 in payments and 200 transactions. However, the IRS still requires you to report self-employment income, so you will file a Schedule C. There, you will list your income and expenses separately. Here is how to do this in TurboTax Online:
Do I still need to file a schedule C if I withheld additional taxes from my other employer throughout the year?
Yes you have to fill out Schedule C for self employment. And you probably have some expenses you can deduct on Schedule C. Hopefully the extra withholding you had taken out will cover any self employment tax.
You will pay Self Employment tax (Scheduled SE) on a Net Profit of $400 or more on Schedule C in addition to regular income tax on it. You pay 15.3% SE tax on 92.35% of your Net Profit (If it is greater than $400). The 15.3% self employed SE Tax is to pay both the employer part and employee part of Social Security and Medicare. So you get social security credit for it when you retire.
Do I also need to provide a 1040?
Yes. The 1040 is the tax return form you file each year. It's what you are filling out in Turbo Tax. Schedule C is a part of it. Have you already filed your 1040 for 2025 for your W2?
