After checking the list of current issues under investigation, I did not find one related to the calculations on Form 1040 Schedule H. The first step in requesting a correction is to examine a diagnostic tax file experiencing the situation. You can provide a diagnostic copy of your tax data file so that someone here can take a closer look. The diagnostic file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms.
If you would like to provide us with the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version of TurboTax you are using and what states you are filing in a follow-up thread. It would be helpful to have a screenshot of the token number to prevent it from being redacted.
Use these steps if you are using TurboTax Online:
I already submitted my tax return. The steps above are not available when I log into turbo tax online.
Below is a snippet from my Schedule H that was generated through turbo tax online. You can see the amount 1,698 in field 8 was misprinted outside of the form resulting in field 8 picking up zero amount and wrong subsequent calculations on form 1040.
I am having this same problem. Box 2, 4 and 7 are correct but line 8 is only showing what’s on 7 and what’s in 2 and 4 is printed outside in the same manner as above. I have not filed yet but it is greatly understating my tax liability. I am trying to work with support on the issue but haven’t found a solution yet.
I am having the same problem. It's not including anything from my SS tax (line 2) or Medicare Tax (line 4) and showing it as a disability off to the left. Only the federal income tax withheld shows up on line 8, excluding SS and Medicare because of disability.
Resolved - on the nanny/household input screen, the amounts on the schedule H from my payroll service should not be added to the box that asks for STATE medicare and social security amounts. I changed that value to $0.
