How do I remove the empty data for "Disasters, theft, and other property loss or damage" form ?

I have some empty data for "Disasters, theft, and other property loss or damage" that's still showing up like this in my 2021 tax return:

I have gone in and made sure there's no theft incident mentioned, but the above still shows. How do I clear this without clearing anything else ?

In TurboTax Online Premier version, to remove the casualty or theft event:

  • Go to Federal / Deductions & Credits / Your tax breaks / Other Deductions and Credits / Disasters, thefts and other property loss or damage.
  • Click Edit / Add to the right.
  • At the screen Casualty and Theft Summary, click Delete to the right of the property/event.

I have already done that, but still this thing shows up.

I have also tried re-entering that section, selecting 'Yes' to add an event, then add an event, then get out of that section, then re-enter this section and then delete that event from the table (as you suggested) .... but still this doesn't fix this.

Delete the form 4684:

  • Online: A simple way to delete forms in TurboTax online is to use the Tax Tools menu option, which is on your left menu bar when you are working in your program. Then, choose Tools and then Delete a form.
  •  Desktop: If you are working in the download TurboTax program, use the Forms Mode on your menu bar to bring up the form you want to delete, then choose the Delete Form option at the bottom of the form.

If the form comes back after deleting it, the program believes you need it and you should Contact Us

Would doing this manual intervention potentially cause any other issues/miscalculations with my tax return ?

EDIT: Actually I just checked - I don't see any form 4684 listed there

No, if you did have such form and needed to delete this specific form, it would not cause any errors with regard to other forms.  Because this entry may have carried over from the prior tax year, or if opened the section this year without intending to do so, the entry will remain even though the amount reflected is zero.  It should not cause any errors in the calculations, and moreover, it should not appear in the error check that will calculate when you have completed your return and are ready to e-file.

So you're saying that even though this thing shows despite the 4684 form not existing in my return, it's still okay to proceed further without any action required for this issue ?

@ahmadka2  That is what he's saying.  You should be fine.
