How do I remove dependent on rejected tax return for incorrect SSN? I don’t know nor have my sons Social.

Son was born 2021 and was trying to claim him as my dependent but don’t know his social.

Return to the Personal information section of return and delete the dependent in question.

Since your return will have a CTC on it then it will not be processed until mid to late February you have time to get that number before you file.  If you remove the child in the MY INFO section and amend later to add him back be aware that amended returns are taking much more than 6 months to process (after the original return has processed)  ... some 2020 returns still have not been processed yet.  Taking some time now to attain the number and filing once correctly will be well worth your time and effort ... a new born is worth up to $5000 on a 2021 return.
