Your web site is oriented for one thing -> getting people to work on current year tax returns.
For everything else like accessing older versions of TT or even preparing older returns online, your site is horrible.
How can I purchase and download previous versions of Turbotax specifically 2018 and 2019?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Sorry Turbo Tax doesn't sell 2018 or 2019 anymore. They only sell the last 3 years. You can buy 2020 -2022 here
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products
You will need a full Windows or Mac to install it on.
Well that doesn't seem like the entire answer.
TT 2018 is no longer available? What about poor planners, like myself? We just have to just go elsewhere to complete overdue 2018 taxes? I guess I'm the only one that needs to prepare older taxes.
Clearly the Intuit web site is not remotely configured to assist people like myself who need to complete prior year's taxes.
Funny that Canadians can still purchase and download older versions of TT. I guess Intuit has different priorities for Americans and our $$.
And...it is too late to receive refunds for 2018 or 2019----even if your tax forms show a refund the IRS will not pay it. The refunds have been forfeited. If you owe tax due for those years, the IRS will still want to be paid and you will owe late filing penalties and interest that has been adding up since the filing deadlines for those tax years.
If you want paper forms to prepare by hand to mail in:

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.
The IRS will bill you for the late fees and interest after they receive your return and payment for the amount of tax due as shown on the Form 1040. Do not mail them together----use separate envelopes for each tax year.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
One reason might be it is too old to get any refunds or to amend. Yes you will have to find another way to file older returns. Like go to a local tax place or you can get the blank forms to fill out yourself. I have links to many years. Or get the IRS blank forms here,

"What about poor planners, like myself? "
Poor planners often suffer the consequences of poor planning -- in many areas of life including filing tax returns.
If you did not request an extension for 2020, that refund has also been forfeited---and it could have included the recovery refund credit for the stimulus money if you did not receive it.
What if I do not file my tax return?
https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2572308-what-happens-if-i-don-t-file-my-taxes
Each tax year has to be filed separately using the forms for the specific tax year. They cannot be combined in any way--do not even put them in the same envelope when you mail them. Software for past years is available back to 2020. Any earlier years can only be prepared on paper forms by hand--and those refunds have been forfeited now.
The current online program can only be used for a 2023 return--no other year.
It might be better for you to seek local paid tax help in a situation when you are several years behind in filing your tax returns. Do you even have all of the documents you will need to enter and show your income—like your W-2’s and any 1099’s?
You cannot change the tax year. The current online program is for 2023 only. Only a 2023 return can be prepared online and only a 2023 return can be e-filed.
Online preparation and e-filing for 2020, 2021, and 2022 is permanently closed.
To file a return for a prior tax year
If you need to prepare a return for 2020, 2021, or 2022 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign, and mail the return(s)
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/
You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.

Note: The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac. It cannot be used on a mobile device.
Not to be snarky but
I think it is implied, if I am inquiring how to get downloadable copies of previous years of Turbotax, that I have a computer at home on which to install these programs. Was I vague about that?
If so,
Yes I do have a computer (a PC) and yes I would still like to get copies of TT 2018 and 2019.
It does seem I may have to complete these returns on the Intuit website. BUT, it seems I will have to wait until Intuit actually has a site that allows for preparation of older returns.
If any knowledgeable sources have a link how to go directly to an online version of TT 2018 or 2019 I would appreciate that.
There are no online sources for 2018 or 2019 TurboTax that would do you any good. Even if you can find the software on eBay, etc, there are no updates available nor are the state programs available for download. There may be other software programs that you can purchase to prepare returns for 2018 or 2019, but TurboTax is not the answer for you. Sorry.
It is good that you are trying to get caught up with filing your returns. Seek local paid tax help or google other tax software programs. There may be some old programs out there for 2018 or 2019 that you can use.
The CD/download for 2020 TurboTax will be available for a few more months and then it will also be removed. So if you want to use TT for 2020, make sure to purchase, download and update it soon.
No Turbo Tax will never have older years either Online or Desktop program. Give up on Turbo Tax. Even if you find older years on Ebay, Amazon or somewhere you won’t be able to update it or download any state programs.
What do you mean or see that makes you think you can complete them Online? The Online web version will only be for the current year.
Not to be ungrateful but, a good number of your IRS links for forms and instructions are either broken or wrong.
I am new here and not seasoned in this area so I don't want to imply that my knowledge/experience is better or more refined.
I was able to use the basic IRS form search page to find what I needed.
It is nice you offer advice and links to help others, but, if you think your information might be outdated or incorrect, maybe offering the generic IRS forms search link would be better.
Advice and assistance is appreciated by everyone until it is incorrect.
Thanks for your time.
Sorry----those IRS links must have changed---it seems some of the links provided to you were bringing up 2023 forms on the IRS site instead of the prior years you want. You can search for the prior year forms here
https://www.irs.gov/prior-year-forms-and-instructions
We do not know what sort of income or information you need to enter, so we cannot know all of the specific forms you might need like Schedule C for business expenses, etc. You can enter the year in the search box on the IRS site and then scroll through the long list of forms---the "numbers" of the forms go from low to higher, so it takes patience to scroll through them.
