How do I, or can I, file my 1040X electronically for 2019 with my Turbo Tax Premier desktop software?

The IRS has shut down the e-filing system completely to prepare for filing 2020 tax returns. There will be no more e-filing until sometime in late January when they start accepting 2020 tax returns. They have not yet announced the exact date.

when you mail your return make sure you follow TT filing instructions. I also strongly recommend that you use a method where you get proof of delivery
