Look at the order of the dependent's names on your Form 1040 and compare that to the last couple of digits on the rejection notice that shows "01" "02" "03" etc----that will show you which dependent is the issue. And....the most likely suspect is usually a teenager or student who filed their own tax return and said no one can claim them.

Generally with the reject number there will be a -01 or -02, etc. That usually means dependent 1 or 2.
