How do i leave my son's tax return to start my own return?

A TurboTax Online account can only be used for one tax return. You have to use a separate account for each tax return. To start your own tax return, sign out of your son's account and sign in to your own account. If you don't have a separate account for yourself you have to create a new account. You can have up to 5 TurboTax Online accounts with the same email address.

If you are using Desktop, go to File > New.

If you are using TurboTax Online, you need to create a separate account if you don't already have one. You can use the "sign Out" link on the bottom left of your screen to exit your son's return. If you already had an account with the same email, when you re-login, you can choose your return.
