If you sent it with your e-filing, the IRS has it. If you mailed it, it can take 8-12 weeks to show up in the IRS system.
I know it costs more, but I generally send any correspondence to the IRS via Priority Mail - it comes with automatic tracking, so you know it arrived.
I sent it after I received info they were taking my return because my wife owes on student loans.
