How do I get TurboTax to import state tax withheld (from W2) when the import from my federal return doesn't do it automatically?

W2 form was correct. Deleting and reimporting did not resolve it. Deleted and restarted state return. Still did not work. Credits section lists only estimated payments and property tax. no state withholding. When I deleted the W2, the fed tax due number changed but state tax did not.

If you imported your Form W-2 and you can not resolve this by re-importing, you should try deleting it and re-entering it manually.

To delete a Form W-2 if you used TurboTax Online you can:

1. Click on "Tax Tools" in the left panel of your TurboTax screen
2. Select  "Tools"
3. Click on "Delete a Form"
4. Scroll down the list of your forms to find your Form W2
5. Click on the trash can to the right of your form to delete it

To delete a Form W-2 If you used TurboTax Desktop, you can:

1. Click on "Forms" in the top right of your TurboTax screen to switch to "Forms Mode"
2. In your left panel of your TurboTax screen find Form W-2
3. Click on "Delete Form" at the bottom of the form
4. Click on "Yes" to confirm the deletion

To get back to your W-2 screens in TurboTax you can:

1. Click on "Search" in the top right of your TurboTax screen.
2. Type "W-2" in the search bar.
3. Click on the link "Jump to W-2"
4. And select to Type it in Myself

the community answered my question.  best answer was to include the amt of the withheld tax in the est tax payments.  That was not an option to select in the reply chain
