How do I get my full refund, including the extra payment with my extension?

For 2020, I filed an extension and submitted an extra payment to ensure I didn't under pay.  I finished filing on Oct 2021, but my return amount the IRS set to my did not factor in the additional payment.  Since I paid in way too much, I should have received a much larger return.  I've tried contacting the IRA multiple times--no joy

Did the extension payment show up on Schedule 1 line 9 which goes to 1040 line 31?  Then you already got it.

How did you pay it?  Do you have proof?  Your only proof of payment is your bank statement or credit card showing the payment coming out.

Thank you for the thought.  No, the extra payment is not on the Sched 1.  However, it is on 1040, lines 31 and 32.  However, the actual amount returned is minus what's on lines 31/32.

Also, when I use the IRS2Go app to check my return's status, they it's still being processed.
