Are you the parent that the child physically lived with more then half the year?

Yes, my child lived with me all of 2018, but now is living with other Parent for 2019.

If you do not have the SSN and the other parent is not cooperative, then look at past tax returns with the child on them if you have any.  Did yiur daughter go to school - must schools require the child's SSN - it might be on school records.  Otherwise this is a legal custody issue - talk to your attorney to compel with a court order.

If someone else (incorrectly) used the SSN’s you cannot e-file.  Your only option is to PRINT and MAIL your return, and let the IRS sort out the issued.  They will contact you and the other party and determine who is entitled to file.


When mailing your return it is best to go to the Post Office and send it Certified with Return Receipt.
