I am trying to put my SSA_1099 income in and I can't figure how to get back to federal wages?

Do not try to enter your SSA1099 as a W-2. Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security to enter your SSA1099.

Then Wages and Income
Then scroll down to Retirement
