How do I get a refund on my city taxes that were taken out, but I did not work in the city, due to the pandemic?

I worked in the city when i went into the office, but due to the pandemic, i did not work in the city, but in my home suburban home outside of the city. I have a letter from my company confirming this, and that my last day going into the office was in March 3/21/2020

Without knowing your city, we can’t give you individual advice on how to get your refund. In general, if you live outside a city and started working from home, then you would not have to pay city tax on the days you worked remotely.

You may have to file a refund petition or city income tax return to get back any tax withheld for the days you worked from home. In most cases you would show how many days you did not work in the city to figure your refund.

Thank you!  I did have to file a refund request, and it seemed to work.  I should find out in about 6-8 weeks.
