Is your dependent a blood relation?
Not relevant, and not a question that is asked. From TurboTax's website: "Qualifying relatives don't need to be related by blood or under a state-level marriage to be claimed as a dependent on your tax returns."
Any other questions?
@josephrubin4 We cannot see your return. Only a qualified dependent can allow you to file as HOH. You cannot use a GF or BF to file HOH. So....it is relevant.
Am I Head of Household?

If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your marital status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.
You are confusing the requirement for claiming a qualifying relative as a dependent with the qualification for HOH which requires a blood relation.
