How do i find the source of a calculated number in turbotax premium

In prior years, I could navigate directly to the tax form/ worksheet which would be populated based on my answer to the questions.  Likewise, I could drill down on number on a form and it would take me back to the related interview question.  I am looking for the question which populated the amount of a prior year tax refund allocated to estimated tax.  The amount makes no sense to me on review so I want to see which question led to this amount.

How do i find the source of a calculated number in turbotax premium

Using the online editions you do not have direct access to any forms, schedules or worksheets.  That capability is only available in the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions through Forms mode.

To enter, edit or delete a 2015 tax refund applied to 2016 taxes -

  • Click on Federal Taxes
  • Click on Deductions and Credits
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
  • On Other Income Taxes, click on the start or update button

Under 2015 Refund Applied to 2016

On 2015 refund applied to 2016 federal taxes, click the start or update button

Or enter applied overpayment in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen.  Click on Jump to applied overpayment
