If the EIN number is the same and you work in more than 1 state or city, sometimes they will give you another W2 with the extra state information on it and the top part the same or not filled in. If this is the case, list one W-2 but include both state or local taxes on it. It will let you type in more than one line for boxes 15-20. Don't add the boxes together.
Same for boxes 12 & 14 if there is no room on the first W2 they can give you another W2 with the extra boxes on it. So list them all on 1 W2. For box 12 just enter it in the next row or box. It doesn't have to match the box 12a-d etc.
Check to make sure that both W-2s have the same EIN. If they do, you can add the information in boxes 18 and 19 from the second W-2 when you enter the first W-2 by adding another line. The screenshot below shows where you would add the information from another locality.
See this is the odd part. I selected to add another locality so I can add the additional amounts for 18 and 19 but I receive an error. The EIN is the same and the locality for box 20 is the same. I have also tried leaving box 20 blank. I have worked here for many years and only ever received one w-2. My payroll department stated it was because I moved when I bought my house. I was in the city district now I’m in a different township and school district.
If the locality in box 20 is the same you can simply combine the values in boxes 18 and then the values in box 19 together.
You can combine them because they will have been paid to the same Locality Name.
