How do I file if husband and wife have different addresses in the same state?
You should file as if you lived in the same home.
Generally, filing jointly will give you a bigger refund or less taxes due even if one spouse has little or no taxable income. When you file separately, your tax rate is higher and you won't be able to claim a number of deductions and credits:
