The TurboTax Help How do I upload a CSV file of my crypto transactions? states:
In TurboTax Online, enter 'cryptocurrency' in the search magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Then select 'Jump to cryptocurrency'.
This tax year introduces a new IRS tax form 1099-DA Digital Asset Proceeds From Broker Transactions. IRS Form 1099-DA will be used by brokers to report proceeds from (and in some cases, basis for) digital asset dispositions to you and the IRS.
Thanks for your response to my question. The issue is that TurboTax is not following this workflow. I reached out to Koinly with the same question and they recommended waiting until January 31st and then try to enter the cryptocurrency .csv as other users are experiencing the same issue. The statement I received from Koinly is: "The crypto reporting section of TurboTax is currently under review until January 31 due to the new regulations coming in with 1099-DA forms. Until that point, you may be unable to upload Koinly TurboTax CSV files or any other gain/loss CSV files from other providers. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we'll update our guide as soon as TurboTax has finalized the section." As a side note, besides the cryptocurrency matter, TurboTax has been extremely "buggy" this year and I've provided feedback within the app multiple times on other issues. Quite frustrating and I'm now looking at other options for filing.
Was this ever resolved? I still do not see an option to upload the csv file from Koinly in turbotax
No, it hasn't been resolved yet. It appears TurboTax is not currently allowing .csv file uploads or gain/loss statements. However, based on what I read yesterday, Koinly is working on a fix —likely a .pdf— that is expected to be released on February 26th, according to their website.
Pdf is good for TurboTax online only, not Desktop version. No solution for TurboTax Desktop yet, except manual entry lol.
Is there going to be a solution for desktop versions to do CSV 8949 import? I can wait a bit if it's coming but if it's not coming I need to get going on asking for a refund from TurboTax and finding another solution.
Are we ever going to get a fix for desktop cvs import?
Koinly released this guidance 4 days ago:

Sounds like there is a workaround but Turbotax could probably fairly easily support this correctly just as they did last year.
Turbotax mods -- with tax day approaching can you please talk to your devs and let us know if waiting might yield helpful results for us please?
Any update on this? Do I need to switch to a different provider? Can I get a refund for this worthless desktop version?
I just received news that an update is being run tonight for TurboTax Online (including mobile in a browser but not the App) to enable the upload of a CSV file for crypto transactions. Check tomorrow in TurboTax Online and it should be there.
I don't have an update as of now for Desktop. This help article will be updated when there is a change.
See this article for information to request a refund for Desktop.
If you wanted to switch from Desktop to Online: though you can't switch using the current year return, you can import your last year's return and then rebuild this year's return. See this article for details.
You've got to be kidding me. I don't want to start over in the online version. That's hours of work.
