TurboTax will do this automatically. There is no option to prevent it from flowing to the state. However, you can make changes accordingly. You will have adjustments sections on the state portion to make any necessary changes, as well as apply for corresponding state credits (if applicable).

Why are you trying to do that?   With TurboTax, the information flows from the federal return to the state returns.   The state needs information from your federal return.   And...you cannot prepare a "stand alone" state return without preparing a federal return.

There is no TurboTax stand-alone state tax preparation software.

Entering your income and deductions in the federal tax return section allow that tax data to flow to the state tax return.
