If you have already filed your return, there is no way to edit the information entered or to change the Refund Method.
If you chose direct deposit and the account information entered is incorrect the bank will reject your refund and the IRS will mail a paper check to the address listed on your return.
If you have not already filed, please follow these steps:
You can easily edit the bank account information following these steps:
- Ensure the box underneath the account info stating I want my refund deposited into this account is unchecked. Make sure this box is NOT checked.
- Scroll down and click Continue.
- A page will display that says, Let's get your bank account info.
- Enter your new or updated bank account information.
