How do I enter 1099 income? Not able to do so under self-employment. I get a screen for payment from Square which does not apply. Then I'm taken to expenses.

Which 1099 form? The suffix after (or in a few cases prefix before) "1099" means everything as to where to enter it in TurboTax. Self-employment generally applies only to a 1099-NEC or possibly 1099-K.

Assuming you got a 1099NEC or 1099Misc.  That is self employment income.

You can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe or Premier but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Self Employed version.
