How do I electronically file an Election to Capitalize Carrying Charges under IRC Regulation 1.266-1?

You can't do that with TurboTax.

You need to either need to manually make the election and mail it with your tax return, or use another software that is able to do it.

The election is made with the tax return by its due date, including extension, by attaching a statement. Attach the statement to the return and write “Filed pursuant to section 301.9100-2” on the statement.

The question is not had the election is made, but "how do you attach that statement electronically within TurboTax?"

I agree with TaxGuyBill, it can't be done. You have to mail it in. I had to do one  on my own return two years ago.
