How do I deduct repayment of unemployment benefit over $3000?

Turbo Tax will take care of this for you. After you enter any benefits you received in 2018 (after the summary), click done. It will ask about repayments from prior to 2017. If you didn't get a 1099G, you can still enter the information. It could be subtracted from your benefits or it might be included as an itemized deduction.

Here's how:

Federal

Income & Wages

Unemployment

Unemployment and paid family leave...Also reported here: Repayment of unemployment benefits

Let me know if you need more help.
