Can you clarify if you are filling a Schedule C and claiming this as an insurance deduction?
It is for a schedule C. My son got a job in December so I can no longer claim him as a dependent and he is on my policy. I have to allocate his portion of the policy to his return but it I get this error message when I check both of the following "I shared this policy with someone else" and "I am self employed."
Since TurboTax does not support the situation where you are sharing the allocation to your son, one option would be for you to assume a 100% allocation to yourself. You can still say you are sharing the policy but you choose to report 100% of it on your tax return. That should resolve your error messages.
Another option would be to use the desktop TurboTax program and calculate the self-employed health insurance deduction manually where you can make entries directly on the forms. A third option would be to not take the self-employed heath insurance deduction.
