How do I change my filing status from single to head of household

Yes, You must qualify to fille Head of Household.. The following are requirements for Head of Household: 

  1. Must have earned income. 

  2. Unmarried at the end of the tax year. 

  3. Supported over one half of the household cost. 

  4. Must have a dependent living in the home. 

If you meet the above requirements, you may follow the steps below to change your status

  1. . Login to Turbo Tax
  2. On the left side of the screen, click My Info

  3. Under My info, scroll down and click edit next to your filing status. 

  4. On the next screen, choose Head of  Household.

my daughter  is a full time law student. But it says she is not a dedependant, even though she lives at home and i support her.and she is a full time student.

How do I change my filing status from single to head of household

You can still have the status of Head of Household with your daughter as a qualifying relative, not a dependent. As long as her income is less than $4300, she would qualify as a qualifying relative.
