How do I change from e-file to paper file when it won't accept my password?

What password is keeping you from e-filing?  Do you mean you cannot access your account?  You have to be able to access your account whether you want to e-file or print and mail the return.

 

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

How do I change from e-file to paper file when it won't accept my password?

No matter what Password I tried to create to save, as was recommended by Turbo Tax, in order to e-file, it would NOT accept ANY PASSWORD AT ALL. So in order to e-file, I had to SAVE  "without" a PASSWORD.  I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS, BUT NOTHING WORKED.  Please advise on how I can go back to correct this issue.  Thank you!

How do I change from e-file to paper file when it won't accept my password?

The first thing I would do is clear cache and cookies and even change your browser. This way we know you are on a clean slate to move forward and things should be operating properly. Please log completely out of TurboTax, then try clearing out your browser's cache stored on your computer. A full or corrupted cache can keep TurboTax from functioning properly. You may also want to change browsers, for example, if you are using Chrome, try switching to Firefox or Microsoft Edge.
