How do I begin a 1099 upload? I see no prompt to begin or do other than enter manually. Financial institution not allowing import this year

Saw this before and it isn't very clear on uploading from computer. I can upload into documents but data is not transfered into form fields. Is there a data format that will allow this rather than manual input with the 1099 as supportive? Trying to avoid all the typing.
