If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your marital status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.

@xcbdt0 - do you have a dependent living with you for at least the last 6 months of the year? can you explain who that is - that is what is critical to filing HOH.

Q. How do I apply for head of household (HoH), instead of single?

A.  As others have indicated, you must meet the rules. In TurboTax (TT), you follow the personal info interview and TT will automatically qualify you for HoH.  If it does not, it will give you a screen "Do yo want to change you filing status". Click Head of Household and TT will present a 2nd qualifying interview.  If it does not qualify you, you cannot change to HoH except in the forms mode (not avaialable in TT online).
