Tax Year Prior to 2020: How do I Add another W2?

If you've already filed, you can only add another W-2 by amending your return.

To find the W-2 section of TurboTax:

1. Type W-2 in the search box when you're in your return
2. Click "Jump to W-2" and enter your information.

To enter another W-2 follow these steps: 

• With TurboTax open select the wages & income tab. 

• Scroll down to the line Job(W2) 

• Select add/edit 

• On the page Here's your W-2 info select Add a W-2 

• Follow the prompts to add a new W-2

If you have e-filed your tax return and need to change, add or delete information on the tax return then you will need to wait for the tax return to either be accepted or rejected by the IRS.
If the tax return is rejected then you can make your changes and re-file the tax return.

An amended tax return, Form 1040X, can only be printed, signed, dated and mailed by you to the IRS, it cannot be e-filed. The IRS will take up to 4 months to process the amended tax return. I want to add another w2 to my 2019 taxes, but TurboTax will not let me amend it. I am going to mail it to the IRS, not file electronically.

Please follow the steps below to add another W-2:

1. Log in to your account.
2. Go wages and Income.
3. Click Edit next to Job (W-2).
4. On the screen  "Here's your W-2 info" click Add a W-2.

To access your online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on Amend (change) return

How do I add two more w2s on my account and I've already did one and it took the first w2 but it won't let me add the other two w2s

In TurboTax Online, to enter a second W-2, follow these steps. 

• Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
• Across the top of the screen, click on Wages & Income.
• Under Your income, scroll down to W-2.
• Click on Edit/Add to the right of W-2.
• At the screen, Your W-2 info so far, click on Add another W-2.

Review the numbers in the 1040 to make sure all of the W-2’s have been entered correctly.  Review the 1040 in TurboTax Online by following these directions. 

• Down the left side of the screen, click on Tax Tools.
• Click on Tools.
• Under Other helpful links, click on View Tax Summary.
• Down the left side of the screen, click on State Tax Summary to see the actual tax return that you prepared.
• Down the left side of the screen, click on Preview My 1040 to see the actual tax return that you prepared.
• Down the left side of the screen, click Back to return.

You can print or view your full tax returns prior to filing after you have paid for the software.

I've already completed my tex but I received two more w-2 in the mail and I need to add them how do I do that.?

Did you already file it?  

If your return rejects for something you can fix it and resend it.  If it is accepted you will have to amend.  So don't change your return until you know.

You should not amend until the first return has fully processed and you get the first refund or your tax due payment has cleared.  

The 2021 1040X amended return won't be ready until February 25
