How can I transfer last years data that is stored on a flash drive to this years return?

TurboTax says they can not find the file.  I am considering opening up the file from last year and saving it on a document file and then see if TurboTax can find the file.  Would that work?

Yes that should work.  Or just copy the .tax2021 file from the flash drive to the computer hard drive.  Or are you trying to transfer from a pdf file?  You can't transfer from a flash drive.

Do you still have 2021 installed?  Try opening 2021 program and see if you can get your 2021 return to show up in it.  Go to FILE - OPEN.  Then save it again with a name and place you can find.  Go to File - Save As.

What I tried did not work.  I finally got the information from my old computers hard drive.  I think TurboTax needs to provide a method to download a pdf file from a flash drive.  I think this is a drawback for TurboTax.

You just have to copy the file from the flash drive to the new computer hard drive.  But it's really not worth it to transfer from the pdf file.  You need to transfer from the actual data file ending in .tax2021.  The pdf only transfers basic info like your name, ssn and AGI.
