How can I remove a tax credit that increases my filing cost to more than the credit amount?

Just a guess----is it the saver credit? You can go in to My Info and tell the program you are a student and it will disqualify you for the credit.

But you might have to clear and start over to downgrade to the free version.

Manually calculated SALT is 14k, but TurboTax credits $40k. Is Turbo Tax rounding up to the limit instead of using the lesser of the calculated amount or the limit?
