How can I receive a W2 from a company I no longer work for?

It is possible. If you worked for a company up until the end of 2019 there may have been some additional income or contributions that had to be accounted for.

If you did not get a W-2, but TurboTax is asking you for information on a W-2 from a prior year.  It is because we wanted to be sure you didn't miss anything, so we carried it forward.

You can simply delete the form.

Go to:

1. Income & Expenses
2. Job (W-2)
3. Review your W-2 info
4. Identify the W-2 you want to delete
5. Click the Trash Can on the right side of the screen
6. Confirm the deletion.

How can I get a W2 that I need from a company I no longer work for is the question. I haven’t received it and do not have access online to get it. I need it for part of my 2020 income.

You will need to contact the employer and request the 2023 W-2.  Make sure that the employer has your current mailing address.
