How can I get TurboTax to accept the tax-exempt interest paid in each state and copied from 1099-INT?

I am positive that the amounts I enter are accurate, but TurboTax says the amount I entered doesn't match 100-INT box 8

It is probably a rounding error. You only need to enter the states you are filing. The rest can be lumped together under the bottom option of multiple states. You may want to go ahead and round your entries so you can know the numbers add up correctly. Your tax return is filed with all rounded numbers per IRS rules.

Right...you don't break out ALL the states.....just your own state and any US Territories (usually Puerto Rico). The final remaining amount is just one number for  "Multiple States".
