How can I get the total taxes due to show in the top left corner of my screen? It is missing.

Throughout the filing taxes process through Turbotax, I have lost access to see how much I owe or am owed.

MISSING REFUND MONITOR

Sorry—-the “running” refund monitor that used to change as you entered data is gone.  You have to get all of your income, etc. entered into the software in order to see the results.

The other place for you to look for your federal refund or federal tax due is on your Form 1040

Federal refund will be on line 35a

Federal tax due (that needs to be paid by April 15) will be on line 37

PREVIEW 1040

I can't see the Federal return in the top left corner even though I'm at the Review step of my taxes. Is that still a bug?

As stated in this TurboTax help article:

Instead of a refund meter at the top of your screen, you’ll see your refund or taxes due in the Federal Review section of TurboTax Online. For accuracy and simplicity, we show these totals after you enter your income, deductions, and credits instead of a running refund tracker at each step of the filing process.

This was a change made for the tax year 2024 products.

Taxes are often calculated using a different method than the tax tables. For example, if you have capital gains, the tax on those is calculated at the capital gain rate for your income level. If you are self-employed, you may have self-employment taxes in addition to income taxes.

You can still preview your return before filing to find out how your taxes were calculated. See here for details. You can also view the Tax Summary under Tools on the left-side menu in TurboTax Online.
