Your employer should mail your W-2 to you automatically. They have until 1/31 to do that. They will mail it to the last known address they have on file. If you've moved, you need to contact them and supply your new address. Some companies use services that will email you so you can download your W-2. Again your former employer will use the last known email address. If you no longer have access you should contact them with updated information. Because employers have until 1/31 to send the W-2 and 1099's it's common for the forms to arrive in early February.
