How can I get my partner off of my taxes when filing? I accidentally added we are filing together and I’m trying to get it off so we can file separately.

Click on My Info on the left side of the online program screen.  Edit your personal information to change your filing status.

You can change from Filing Jointly to Filing Separate in the My Info section of your tax return.

On the center menu select Personal Info and

1. Click Review Edit.
2. Your information, and your families will be displayed.
3. To change Your Personal information:
   1. Click the arrow on the right.
   2. Then select [Revisit].
   3. Continue the interview to About your household
   4. Select Married
      1. A drop down will appear
      2. Select Plan to file separately or as Head of Household (special rules apply)
   5. Complete the interview.
