How can I finish my state taxes? I Thought it was completed

To finish your state return:

Once your state forms are ready , and you have e-filed your Federal tax return and it has been accepted, then you can follow the steps below to file your State return:

1. Login to your TurboTax account.
2. In the Welcome Home box, click Visit My Tax Timeline at the bottom.
3. In the SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO section, click Add a state.
4. Click on the State Taxes tab.
5. Click Continue to start or complete your state taxes.
6. Click Done with State.
7. Continue through the flow to review and file your state taxes.

You may want to review the State Taxes section to confirm the return is complete.

At the end of the process it will ask you if you are ready to e-file your state.  That way you will know for sure that you have completed your state taxes and then you will submit them or print them off and mail them in.

** If for some reason you cannot get into your return through your tax timeline you can click on Add a State (under the state tab)  and you won't necessarily be adding another state it will then ask you if you wish to complete your state and which case you would say yes to continue.**

There is no Welcome Home box and there is no Visit My Tax Timeline option.
When logged into the main screen, you have to scroll until you find Add a State. You need to click on this even if your state taxes are marked as "started." Which is needlessly confusing.
Also, this answer fails to mention that you will need to have last year's AGI or state-issued PIN.
