How can I file for a extension for my prior year that I was trying to finish up also I need to know how can I check on mu account on how much I have left to pay

I need more time to finish my payment please what is holding me for making payment is my school loan.

There's no point to filing an extension on a prior year return.  An extension can only be used for a current year return.
