When you use online TurboTax software you get one return per fee.
Each return needs its own email, account and user ID. If you use the same account and user ID for a second return, the second one overwrites the first return and it is lost forever.

If you are using TurboTax Online, you cannot prepare and file a tax return for another person using an existing TurboTax account. You'll need to create a new account, distinct from the account you used to file the first return.
Please read this TurboTax Help topic on how to start a new tax return for another person.
Just to be clear, I understand I need a separate account and user ID for each of the 3 returns, but can I use the same email address for those three different returns?
No. It would have to be a different email address.
I appreciate your prompt response and I apologize for still being unclear about multiple filings. You indicated that the IRS allows up to 5 returns can be submitted from one email address. My question, if I use the online version and use a different account and ID for each return, can I file up to 5 returns with the same email address? I realize that I would have to purchase a online version for each return. Thanks for your patience.
Why do you charge so much for one person to file that is just awful over 100 dollars and I can't do 2 people this is just a money making tax company now Patty olinger
@TurboDom Unforturately not. I tried to change the User ID and the login changed to that ID but the data in the return was the same as the original.
I agree. While I don't like it, I understand a different account and ID for each return. Although I'm still not positive that Turbo Tax only allows one email per return, even the IRS allows five. I've done the returns for family members for 20 years for free and now I have to find a different alternative. Sadly, I've wasted more time trying to get an exact answer than it takes to do one of the returns.
