How can I change the disposition of the American Opportunity Credit qualification? "not qualifying because of a felony conviction". There is NO felony conviction.

Go back through the Education section and make sure that the question about the felony conviction is answered no.  (See the screenshot below)

If it is marked no and going through the entire section had not taken care of the disqualification, delete the Form 1098-T and then reenter the information.

To delete the 1098-T:

• Log into your return
• Click on Tax Tools in the left column
• Click on Tools  (See the second screenshot below)
  
• Click on Delete a Form  (See the third screenshot below)
  
• Click Delete beside the Form 1098-T
• Confirm that you want to delete the form
• Go back to the Education section and reenter your Form 1098-T
