How can I change line 76a of the Turbotax (Deluxe 2017) Form 1040and have the full amount of the overp ayment applied to my 2018 taxes?

To apply (or unapply) a federal refund to next year (overpayment), please review the following instructions:

1. If you are using TurboTax CD/Download, open appropriate tax return.
2. In the upper right corner, type "apply federal refund to next year" in the Find box and then select the "Jump to" link in the search results.

Thank you EdwardK. It would be good if it were possible to edit that amount on the form 1040 image directly as well (I was unable to). Perhaps that feature can be added next year

You may edit the amount in Forms Mode if you would like. On the left panel, select "ES & W4 Wks" and then edit the box "Amount of my 2017 overpayment to apply to 2018 instead of refunding it." The amount should flow to Form 1040.
