TurboTax says that the updates were successful and shows a box with a "+" sign and then gives a link to More details. When I click on the link, it send me to the TurboTax online login screen. There are not updates on that site.

That is a known problem and has been reported. See this TurboTax support FAQ for the latest release - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/3169946-turbotax-2018-release-notes-for-windows-personal-tax-softw...
That link is also broken. There is no way to find out what forms in TurboTax 2019 are up-to-date and what are missing; the previously available *web* page which listed all the forms can no longer be found an the program does not provide a list.
As of this moment (just after the 12/17 form update) the program is next to unuseable; it will take you into a place with a missing form then basically drop you out so there is no way to even fake out that information.

TurboTax has removed release notes for the TurboTax software effective for tax year 2019. They will be removing the More details link in the Updater window later during the 2019 tax season.

I've already done that and I am waiting on my SECOND call back.

Yes, that's it. This was a corporate decision and we do not have access to corporate management or officers. So if you want information from TurboTax concerning a corporate decision you have to contact TurboTax.
That is an exercise in futility. I've spent the last two hours trying to do just that and have spoken to two different reps (so far) with absolutely no information whatsoever.
Make that THREE reps nothing useful. None of them could even confirm what's been posted in these forums that Intuit has decided we don't need to know what they are doing with the updates. Aside from this thread, I have seen this same information, including the oh-so-helpful suggestion to contact customer support, is at least two other ones.
Also, it seems this actually nothing new - there are complaints about this going back to last June, if not farther. Either Intuit pays no attention to anything in these forums or they just give a rat's rump about their customers.
The link to 'details' on the window which appears after updating TurboTax is broken. If you click on the link you get a screen which says TT support has moved. The link is to https://ttlc.intuit.com/articles/4784576
Right...and that's the problem.
New Turbo Tax Support is absolutely and totally useless with out any answer to more details.
